How ZenNote Handles Data

ZenNote is built with a local-first model. This page explains what stays on your device and what third-party services may process.

2. Local-First Data Storage

Most user content (notes, schedule items, cycle logs, finance records, and settings) is stored on your device. ZenNote Team does not operate a default cloud account system for this private content.

3. Permissions Requested

  • Camera/Photos: attachments and receipt capture
  • Microphone: voice notes
  • Location: weather and optional location-aware features
  • Calendar: optional import/export sync
  • Notifications: reminders and alarms

4. Why Permissions Are Used

  • Only for user-triggered features
  • Can be revoked anytime in system settings
  • Feature behavior may be reduced if denied

5. Third-Party Services

  • Firebase Analytics (usage metrics)
  • Firebase Remote Config (feature/config values)
  • Google AdMob (ad delivery)
  • Weather provider (location-based forecasts)

6. Ads and Analytics Disclosure

  • ZenNote is currently free and ad-supported.
  • Ad providers may process technical identifiers and diagnostics under their policies.
  • Users can manage ad personalization through device/Google settings.

7. User Rights

  • Access data directly in app
  • Delete local content in app
  • Revoke permissions in OS settings
  • Contact support for policy questions

8. Children and Security

  • ZenNote is not directed to children under 13.
  • Device-level security and encrypted transport are used where applicable.
